Ysgol Pen-Y-Bryn is a coeducational Foundation Primary school based in Conwy, in North Wales. The school caters for children of many differing religions and beliefs but is essentially a Christian School and follows the Christian church year. The school is two form entry with more than 400 children on the roll.
Ysgol Pen-Y-Bryn has Enhanced Managed Support with Advatek, for their HP server and Sophos endpoints. The support contract gives them access to Advatek’s service desk, TAC support, incident management, monitoring and third line support. The cover is 4 hour on-site, 24/7.
With their incumbent supplier in some financial difficulties, Ysgol Pen-Y-Bryn found themselves without a support for their network.

In common with all schools, the past year has been a testing time for Pen Y Bryn. The network is critical to the running of the school, with teachers delivering remotely
“We needed to ensure that everything would run smoothly. The main network is run by the server and it needs to be reliable, not only for the children; we had a lot of key worker children coming in who needed access to the network, but also the teachers who needed access to our file systems and office staff to make sure everything was running smoothly. Advatek made sure that was the case.
“We always know that support is an email or a phone call away, and if anything is needed usually it can be done remotely, or if not, they will try and get onto site as soon as they possibly can.
